All of the cited literature and studies in this study discussed the relevance and similarities which give the ideas to the researchers to formulate the process in the conduct of the present research study. The theoretical and conceptual framework, the synthesis of the art and the gap bridge of the study were presented to facilitate understanding of this work. Likewise, this study presented the possible solutions to resolve certain problems encountered by the respondents. Findings The following are the significant findings of this study: 1. Requirements for the Chef Position A. Educational Attainment The most important criteria in the selection of employees is educational attainment, thus, the respondents choose the bachelor’s / college degree and vocational diploma / short course certificate who rank as first (1st) with a frequency of 30. Second in rank (2nd) is the Culinary Course Certificate with a frequency of seven (7). With the frequency of two (2), the food and beverage services management rank as third (3rd). B. Number of Years of Experience In the membership of thirty (30), fourteen (14) rank as first (1st) who have 2 – 4 years of experience. Next in rank is the 5 – 6 years with the frequency of nine (9) and lastly with a frequency of seven (7) with a 7 – 8 years of experience. C. Skills It showed that in terms of skills, the first (1st) in rank are the knowledgeable in HACCP and other sanitation standard, having excellent communication skills and being computer literate with a frequency of thirty (30). Manpower Supply In terms of manpower supply, the limited applicant due to international opportunities has the highest weighted mean of 2.76 which result to an adjectival rating of often encountered. The delight in comparing the historical accuracy of Arthur Miller’s play to the real events of the Salem Witch Trials and the Red Scare of the 1940s and 1950s comes from both the time at which the play was published and the historical parallels between the two times in American history. Furthermore, the play holds value as an attempt to explain unexplainable behavior and to teach lessons from the history in the hopes that they will not be repeated. It is a sad lament that the lesson remains unlearned and fifty years later we are faced with another American witch trial, this time under the name â€Å"War on Terror.†In short summation, â€Å"The Crucible† is a play ostensibly about the Salem Witch trials. In it, a preacher’s daughter falls ill after dancing in the woods with a slave and some of the other village teen agers. Her father calls in assistance from more world church investigators to find the root of the witchcraft that has left his daughter ill. A fter he threatens to whip the slave to death, she confesses to witchcraft and seeks to take blame away from herself by pointing the finger at other Salem citizens.Eventually, the finger is pointed at a married woman, Elizabeth Proctor, by her former maid Abigail who had been having an affair with the woman’s husband John. Her accusations are at first doubted because John admits to the affair and shows that Abigail is attempting to tarnish his wife’s reputation or indeed mess up his life, but Elizabeth, thinking she is protecting her husband, refuses to admit to knowing about the affair. She is eventually found guilty of witchcraft and spared the gallows because she is pregnant, but in the same misguided desire to spare herself more torment, accuses under questioning that her husband is also a witch. At the end of the play, John Proctor is being led to the gallows for his crime.Is any of this real? Yes. Elizabeth Proctor was given a stay of execution because she was pre gnant and most of her family was executed during the Salem Witch Trials (Burns, 1). The pastor’s slave, a Caribbean Indian woman named Tituba was among the first accused and pointed the finger at her owner’s daughter and others in the community, but there is no historical evidence that John Proctor had an affair and the real Abigail was an 11 year old girl at the time of the trials (Burns, 1). So why did Arthur Miller chose to make it all up? Possibly to give reason to the unreasonable. Though the witch hunts in Salem lasted a relatively short period of time, they left an indelible mark on American history, a time when man turned against his wife and children and neighbors to avoid being killed.Miller, a victim of Joseph McCarthy’s â€Å"Red Scare’, understood the premise all too well. The origins of the Red scare are much easier to trace than the origin of the Salem Witch Hunts, but Miller clearly could see the parallels between the two. In a speech in Wheeling, West Virginia, in February, 1950, McCarthy made clear where his venom and hatred came from. â€Å"Five years after a world war has been won, men’s hearts should anticipate a long peace—and men’s minds should be free from the heavy weight that comes with war. But this is not such a period—for this is not a period of peace. This is a time of â€Å"the cold war.† This is a time when all the world is split into two vast, increasingly hostile armed camps—a time of a great armament race. â€Å"(â€Å"Enemies from Within†, 1).There is a term used in sociology to reflect the behavior, called identifying the â€Å"other†. The other is a person unlike ourselves who has some characteristic that makes them a threat to society as we know it. In the witch trials, it was witches. During the Red Scare, it was Communists. Today, it is anyone who appears Arabic or studies Islam and can therefore be deemed likely to be a terrorist.   Not having learned the lessons of history or of literature, after September 11, 2001, Americans were terrified and they turned to a new witch hunt, this time with the witches semi-identifiable by race.Too bad that you can tell an Arab-American who has lived her forever, or an Afghani refugee, or simply a hard-working Middle Easterner who has never considered the way of Al Qaida just by looking at them. Instead, we demonize a race and lock people up in Cuba at Guantanamo Naval Base on the suspicion that they might have knowledge about someone or something that might want to hurt us. The Patriot Act makes it an offense just to know people who might be associated with terrorism and encourages people to rat out their friends, with the same kind of threats that the preacher used on his slave Tituba.But this is not the first witch hunt since McCarthyism and is probably not the last. In fact, in many ways, Miller may have contributed to one of his own in the writing of â€Å"The Crucibl e†. In 1950s northern America, Communists were the enemy, but in the South, it was the uppity African-American wanting rights that he had been granted but not given after the Civil War. By making Tituba a Negro slave and implying that she practiced some form of voodoo, Miller may have contributed to this anti-African-American attitude (Hansen, 3).   By the 1970s, the witch hunt was against the American military and specifically those who had served in Vietnam, in the 1980s Reagan-era; it was those darned Communists again.The 1990s brought on a witch hunt in the Catholic Church, where suddenly every priest was assumed to be a pedophile and in 2001, Al Qaida made themselves into the witches of the new millennia.   At Guantanamo Bay, McCarthy’s famous question, â€Å"Are you now, or have you ever been, a member of the Communist Party?† (Popkin, 139) has been revised. Battle of Monmouth

June of 1778, General Washington is planning to attack General Sir Henry Clinton and his troops as they march from Philadelphia to New York. Washington sent 5,000 men with Major General Charles Lee to attack the British rear guard. Lee is forced to retreat, but Washington is ready for the British with the main army. In the end the both sides had claimed victory. Near Monmouth County Courthouse, the battle was fought on June 28, 1778. The weather was so hot on the day of the battle that many soldiers suffered from heat stroke.Many of Washington’s officers favored his plans to attack General Clinton, but Major General Lee was against it. Lee felt that after their alliance with the French, that they shouldn’t attack the British unless they have overwhelming superiority. Washington decided to send 4,000 men to attack Clintons rear guard, Lee turned down command of the force. After Washington raised the amount of men to 5,000, Lee demanded to be given command. Lee was given strict orders to hold a meeting to determine the plan of attack with his officers.During the meeting, Lee told the officers to be alert for orders during the battle instead of planning it out. When they encountered the British, Lee quickly lost control. After this the British moved to flank Lee’s men, when Lee saw this he ordered a retreat. Washington had been bringing the main army up when he saw Lee’s forces retreating. Washington located Lee and dismissed him after not receiving a satisfactory answer as to what had happened. Washington rallied Lee’s men and held off the British just long enough to set positions in the west. After fighting till sometime in the late afternoon, the British retreated.Washington hoped to pursue but his men were exhausted from fighting all day in the heat. The Battle of Monmouth was the last major battle fought in the north during the war. After the battle the British had held up in New York and focused on the southern colonies. THREE FACES OF THE WRITER I attended a conference recently where a short story instructor elaborated about the three sides of a writer. I like to call them faces. The concept he painted was not new to me, but I marveled at how it remained hidden in the back of my mind, an assumption, like it wasnt worth remembering. In reality, understanding our three faces is phenomenally important. Astounding, even. THE AUTHOR This personality is the source of all ideas. Here is where you contrive the plot and choose your characters. This side of you involves ingenuity. THE WRITER This face is the crafter. Here is the side of you that defines the words, matches nouns to verbs, carefully chooses adverbs (if any). This is the most easily taught of the three talents. You can be schooled on how to put words together correctly. THE STORYTELLER Here is the magic. This is what most people call voice. So many people can be authors and writers, but not everyone is a storyteller. This face isnt easily taught, since its almost an inherent trait. Its this side of you that can show and not tell, translating enthusiasm into words. Th storyteller isnt in all writers and authors. There may be words on paper, in order, written properly, with a beginning, middle and ending, but without the storytellers touch, the tale falls flat. How do you master all three? Read voraciously, watching for all three faces of the writer you read. Make yourself learn the writer side, grasping the word building until its second nature. Listen to storytellers. Close your eyes and hear audiobooks, movies, and plays. Absorb the wordplay, recognizing how the writer avoids telling. Then try to be uninhibited in your writing. Dont worry about what your mother will think about the sex in Chapter 14. Forget about how your cousins may misinterpret the twist in Chapter 23. Sling all the crap on the page and dare to be alive. Story creation is a careful balance of knowing the rules, thinking creativity, and then daring to explode onto the page without concern for the ramifications.

Olive fruit flies damage the production of olive fruits as its young feed voraciously on the fruit of the olive tree as it ripens. The P. cf. concolor would help to solve this damage caused by t he olive fruit flies by laying its eggs inside the flies’ maggots. The three poems ‘Conveyancing,’ ‘Composed Upon West-Minister Bridge, September 3rd, 1820,’ and ‘London’ give an image and they show a diverse view of Pre-1900 London. All three poems are written by male poets, they use various techniques, style and imagery, that give different effects to the reader. 3 POEMS The first poem is ‘Conveyancing’ and is written by Thomas Hood; it’s about the movement from one place to another by using different vehicles such as Gurneys, hackney carriages and horse drawn caravans, which were used in the Victorian times. He says that the horse’s work is done by the powers of attorney. This poem shows humour and lighthearted jokes. An example of this would be cab-age; here the poet uses this so that it rhymes with Queen Mab age. Also he uses this as to make a mockery of the word cabbage, while referring to the age or era of the cab. The poet picks out words and phrases from Shakespeare’s plays such as Queen Mab who is a character from ‘Romeo and Juliet,’ she is the Queen of fairies and causes mischief that rides in a carriage made of nutshells. Also he uses a phrase ‘The world a sage has call’d a stage’ he refers to this as the ‘sage’ being Shakespeare the wise man and he said life was a stage on which we all performed. He writes about how there are loads of people in London and that everyone loves London. He uses the word Loco-motion to slow the rhyme down. He talks about an unknown character Jarvis and a man named Malthus who wanted to control the population. He describes them by showing their character through many ways by rhyming and by emphasising the words. He quotes a line from a silly little song and he doesn’t want be caught on a journey with boring people. If a handkerchief was taken from the side of your trousers and u didn’t notice till ages, you wouldn’t be able to see who took your handkerchief because there was so much traffic going past. The poet’s attitude to the poem is that, he tries to make the poem cheerful by rhyming and emphasis. He uses false rhyme such as cab-age and dickey, which is slang term for yucky! It’s a witty poem with a lot of merry jokes. Stanzas put the structure of the poem together, which gives a good impact on the reader because it’s such a long poem and it’s easier to read. The poem is observational and full of detail because, he describes all the different types of transport, names of shops and the different characters. Reference to the songs, which are written in irregular verses, allows him to use irregular voices and rhymes. London is a very busy city; therefore there are many places and objects for the poet to express. The second poem is ‘Composed Upon West-Minister Bridge†¦.’ which is written by William Wordsworth; this poem is about how the atmosphere around London and how it differs from the early morning to the late afternoon. In the morning the atmosphere is clean and steady whereas in the afternoon it’s smoky and cloudy. He writes about how he admires the view of London and how people are missing out on this magnificent view of the day. If you didn’t see this view, it would show that you’re insensitive, you had no feelings and you were dull. He describes this view as powerful and grand and calls it ‘its majesty,’ he says this just because it rhymes with ‘pass by,’ which is on the line above this. He is so high up that he can see all the skylines and he can see the horizon of the countryside. As the sun rises, you can see the sun lighting up the city. He has a feeling of calmness by watching this sight of awe. There are no people moving because it’s so early in the morning and the town is still. The poet’s tone is that he has a positive attitude about London. He is in high spirits when seeing this wonderful view so early in the morning of London. He believes that this is the most beautiful place to be on Earth at this very moment. He also assumes that if you haven’t seen this view then you haven’t got no spirit in you at all, because you are missing out on such a sight. He puts his message across by being very affirmative and putting a grudge against the people who haven’t seen this sight. He expresses himself through his awe of the view. His choices of words are very vivid and vibrant. He uses similes and a lot of personification, to describe this city. There’s no humour in the poem but a lot of detailed expressions. Rhymes are used to make the poem more appealing in order to maintain the rhythm. The formation of this poem is in the form of a sonnet. London is a very beautiful place and nothing on Earth is more beautiful than this morning. The final poem is called ‘London’ and is written by William Blake; this poem is about fears, and gives a darker view of London at that time. It talks about how people are affected by the plague of poverty and how little children are sent up chimneys to clean them. Also, how the people are mentally and physically trapped because there’s so much grime and dirt. He writes about the harsh conditions that drag everyone down and how the prostitutes would regularly give birth. All the people are miserable and they are trapped in an environment of gloom. How in every voice you hear the cry of fear. He writes about the psychological handcuffs that restrict you. Now that soldiers have returned they risk death everyday. When you get married it is the happiest day of your life and the atmosphere around you is blissful, whereas in this poem the poet describes the poem as being a funeral carriage. Even though there is a wedding it feels like a funeral and people are still in fe ar. The poverty has increased immensely. The people’s expressions are described as sad, mournful and sombre. The poet’s attitude to this poem is distressing; he doesn’t look on the positive of ‘London’ but on the negative side. He writes about how the people have caught the plague and how everyone is miserable. The mood of the poem is dull and wretched; it has no life to it. It feels like the life has been taken away and been replaced by the plague. His choices of words are old fashioned; he uses words like ‘harlots’ ‘blights’ and ‘manacles.’ Similes, personification and metaphors aren’t used. The only imagery used is rhyme, which I believe makes the poem even drearier. The construction of the poem is in stanzas; this is to separate the poem up. Because the plague has spread everywhere and ruined peoples lives there’s isn’t a social area of this poem. The historical and cultural contexts tell us that in the Victorian epoch, the children were the chimneysweepers because they were little enough to get up there, this was also cruelty to the children as this was their child labour. Also, contraception wasn’t available, prostitutes were giving birth frequently. Back then it was more of a manufacturing era; therefore there was a lot of smoke and filth in the atmosphere. This caused the churches to turn black. I believe that, Blake sees nothing to admire except hardship and suffering. COMPARE AND CONTRAST ‘Conveyancing’ and ‘Composed Upon West-Minister Bridge†¦Ã¢â‚¬â„¢ show a comparison by giving a positive attitude towards London. ‘Conveyancing’ talks about the movement of different transportations and ‘Composed Upon West Minister Bridge†¦.’ talks about the beautifulness of the still city in the morning. Both the poems are written in full detail, ‘Conveyancing’ has a lot of rhyming, emphasis, rhythm and has a lot of humour. There is a lot of action and deeds. Also in this poem, it talks about how there is a lot of traffic and noise. The poem is split up in stanzas so it’s straightforward to read. Many old- fashioned words and phrases are used to indicate the type of language used. Humour and light-hearted jokes are used to highlight the poem, so it’s more amusing to read. It’s observational and imaginable, so that it’s easy to understand. This poem is a contrast to ‘Composed Upon West Minister Bridge†¦Ã¢â‚¬â„¢ by the way in which the linguistics have been used. The poet writes a lot about fear, woe and tears, whereas in ‘Conveyancing’ the poet uses witty and humorous jokes. This poem is very mournful, but in ‘Conveyancing’ the poem is light-hearted. The poem is written out and structured in a sonnet; therefore, it’s not too long and it’s concise. The poet uses a lot of linguistic imagery, which makes the poem more interesting. If I had to describe this poem, I would say that it as very, vivid and vibrant. The way the poet describes this poem is exalted. He uses personification to describe London in detail, rhyme to keep up the rhythm and he uses simile to compare London to beautiful garments. I especially liked this poem as the mood is subtle and has a tranquil atmosphere. Although there isn’t any humour, you can still imagine this awed view that Wordsworth portrays. I believe that this was the only poem where the poet expressed his feelings in full detail by using diff erent types of linguistic features on his view of London

From practical perspective, such an exploration carries obvious implications for managers wishing to understand when and why the use of sex previous appeals might be effective across gender-defined s egments. Although there are many aspects of sex in advertising that could be of interest, we circumscribe our investigation along two dimensions: () We focus on reactions to gratuitous sex previous appeals; and (b) we examine processing of such ads under constrained processing conditions. The rationale for focusing on gratuitous previous sexual appeals is practical one. Ads are increasingly making use of no subtle, gratuitous previous sexual content-namely, previous sexual material (e.g., images) that many are likely to regard as being unnecessarily explicit, perception that is heightened when the image is also irrelevant to the advertised product. This study consists of three studies Study 1: Involvement Study 2: Need for Cognition (NFC) Study 3: Gender Study 1: Involvement The study shows that high involvement respondents produced more negative advertisement implementation and brand thoughts toward the sexual appeals than the non-sexual appeals. These results suggest that sexual appeals may be effectual when targeting low-involvement consumers, but that they might not work well for high-involvement customers. It mentions how immigrants make up on a small percent of the total American population yet contribute a sig nificant percent to the economy by means of small businesses. Peri’s article mentions the long run positive effects of immigration on the US economy as it increases productivity (4). Immigrants bring in new ideas and creativity along with them leading diverse distribution of organizational workforces. Although it may seem like immigrations negatively impact the US labor market as they saturate jobs and cause unemployment in the short run, the long run implications are promising. However, it seems to long before the long run positive impacts become observable. Even though short run effects of immigration may reduce employment, it increases average income in the long run (Peri, 4). So, the long effects of immigration are positive on employment, productivity, and income. However, it is also important to note that the immigration must adapt to economic changes in order fo r it to improve variables such as employment, productivity, and average income. The current US immigration laws do not allow the immigrants to adjust to economic changes because it makes them unresponsive to the economic conditions. In order for legal immigration to improve organizational productivity, average income, and employment rates, immigration must adjust to economic cycles thereby leading to improvements in the US economy. These adjustments are the hardest to carry during prolonged periods of economic downturns and therefore amendments in the US immigration policy is required to allow the inflows to be responsive to economic changes thereby helping to boost economic activity and hence result in greater jobs for the people. Thus, a reform in the current US immigration laws may provide a
